Illegal signs everywhere! Click photos

The City of Sierra Vista ordinances makes use of a simple, inexpensive A-frame style sign a criminal offense. The effect, if not the intent, is to limit free speech and competition. All of the signs shown in this picture gallery are illegal under current City of Sierra Vista ordinances, and punishable by fines of $2,500 per day, and jail time. Of course, as a hundred or so examples will show, the City only enforces this law when they don't like the message or the messenger, in clear violation of the Arizona and U.S. Constitutions. Jeff Pregler, of the city's Planning and Zoning department, has defended the restrictive ordinances on the basis of "aesthetics, and the safety issue".

I appreciate that someone is out there actually investigating local government. We CAN handle the truth, and Government SHOULD be "in the sunshine." Accountability is key to good governance. It is what we pay for, and deserve. Thank you, Mr. Morgan.
