Illegal signs everywhere! Click photos

  • Little Caeser's Pizza Sign in parking landscape area
The City of Sierra Vista ordinances makes use of a simple, inexpensive A-frame style sign a criminal offense. The effect, if not the intent, is to limit free speech and competition. All of the signs shown in this picture gallery are illegal under current City of Sierra Vista ordinances, and punishable by fines of $2,500 per day, and jail time. Of course, as a hundred or so examples will show, the City only enforces this law when they don't like the message or the messenger, in clear violation of the Arizona and U.S. Constitutions. Jeff Pregler, of the city's Planning and Zoning department, has defended the restrictive ordinances on the basis of "aesthetics, and the safety issue".

Hey a blog finally! Way to go! I tried subbing to your feed but Bloglines doesn't recognise it.

The Say No to Torture rally is Sunday Nov. 16 at 10:00 am at Vet. Mem. Park with a march to the main gate afterwards. Other events in Tucson the whole weekend.

Okay, now I'm subbed. Operator error. Hope to see more articles!

Free speech died in this county long ago as I have found. Once upon a time I could get a simple letter to the Editor published but no more. "They" don't want to publish info. that has any teeth to it. I support your efforts in establishing an alternative press in Cochise County. Way to go!
